Thoughts.
Imagine this scenario: what if the person talking to you could already read your mind? How would you change how you communicate?

A couple years ago, I met someone who spent about 10 seconds ‘assessing me’ and then knew everything about me. When I ‘thought’, he knew what I was thinking. When I ‘felt’, he could feel what I was feeling. He saw certain things about me I couldn’t have described in myself, but rang true to my character over the span of my life.

Now, I’ve always been a very honest person. But, for the first time in my life, I was being held accountable for my thoughts. It was a very strange experience…

Fast-forward, I understand we should all be held accountable for our thoughts. In actuality, our thoughts are ‘physical’, which means what we ‘think’ projects itself upon our reality. Every second, we are processing around 2 million times more data than we can handle in our conscious minds. Our subconscious minds are rapidly sifting through information to fit our beliefs, construct the world around us, and give us a frame of reference to process it.

So, every time we think, we are actually shifting our beliefs, thereby selecting different fragments of the data that is 2 million times too big to process, and shifting what we see, feel, and experience. That’s not because the world starts to magically conform to how we think; rather, it’s because the world has both what we ‘want’ and don’t want already. By focusing on one vs the other, we bias what we see and experience, thereby changing how we live.

So, the next time you’re thinking about something negative, sad, or other than what you want, make a decision. Decide which reality you prefer; the one you want, or the one you’re experiencing. Think about the reality you want, embrace the feelings that go with it, and watch your world conform to your every desire.

On the other hand, be sad, depressed, anxious or upset, and think negative thoughts. The world will surely comply and show you how bad your life really is.

The point is, you have a choice: choose to live the life you want by focusing on it, how it feels, and all the beauty around you.

Today’s lesson: Your life is a canvas of your thoughts.

Pretend someone can hear your every thought, because they can. Whether you want to call it God, Universe, or anything else; someone or something is listening. You have the capacity to create any reality you want, and every tool, piece of wealth, communication strategy, and mentor is already here for you; all you have to do is ask.

Every time you think, you are asking for something. Choose more deliberately and get more of what you want.

But, one word of caution: material things are low-ranking desires. High-ranking desires include: bliss, love, joy, happiness, gratitude, inner peace, and altruism.
