Scodari.
Thank you, Joe Scodari.

I sit here and remember the ‘man’ for his birthday; yet I’m called to share about Scodari’s spirit, for it continues to echo in my words, actions, thoughts, and reactions throughout each and every day.

Joe Scodari — for those of you who don’t know — was one of my two best childhood friends. On December 29th, 2015, Joe suddenly passed away. He was 34 years old and a few weeks away from becoming a father for the first time. Joe’s incredible wife, Chelsea, has gone on to raise their beautiful son, Hunter.

I don’t think a day has gone by without thinking of Joe throughout the day. It’s been about 18 months, which means the mourning period should be over by now. I don’t often feel sad when I think of him; rather, I am reminded to take life less seriously, laugh, enjoy the moment, and contagiously have fun.

I also call Joe in for treatments on a regular basis and ask for his guidance in where to place my hands, which intention will be best for the desired outcome, and how to choose an action for the highest good. My connection to Joe’s spirit lives on, and his spirit’s connection to the divine has grown. Therefore, it’s my belief Joe is able to help heal others and guide me towards my best — and most purposeful — life.

The spirit of Joe Scodari is one to remember and recognize as still present. His physical body may have passed, but the essence of Joe remains in all the lives he touched. For whichever reason Joe’s soul chose a shorter life, I recognize he made the most of it. Joe had fun every step of the way, and he never compromised from doing what he loved.

Today, I honor Joe Scodari because he honored himself, which is my wish for you; and also because he was such an incredible, gracious, and loving man.

Today’s thought exercise:

If you lost everyone you loved, what lessons are worth remembering from each of them? And if you are able to gain this perspective right now, how can you incorporate their spiritual lessons into your life immediately?

Please consider learning from spirit. Whose spirits have interacted with yours, and what can you learn from each of them?

Sent to you with love, honor, and in service,

Kareem
