What you focus upon, expands.
So today’s lesson is to ‘zoom in’ and ‘zoom out’. When you feel stuck with a particular emotion or circumstance, you have two choices:
Choice #1: Zoom in.
If you choose to zoom in, it is recommended you have private space and time to process emotions. This typically takes about 15-30 minutes, although it can be quite variable depending upon the person and circumstance. When zooming in, you are choosing to feel all that this emotion has to offer, to fully experience it, and then to be on the other side of it. From the other side, you can gain a new perspective, release it, and learn from what you’ve experienced for the future.
Choice #2: Zoom out.
If you choose to zoom out, you are choosing to take a higher perspective on the situation, or perceive it from a state of higher consciousness. The idea is to imagine yourself zooming a camera of your life out, so now you see the top of your head, then you see your body from above, you’re now above your home and floating upward, you see sky underneath you, clouds, and then in the distance the home in which you are experiencing life, etc. When you zoom out, you are able to see this moment as simply a moment and place it in the greater context of what is happening in your surroundings. What you’re missing, of course, is healing the feeling that you’re experiencing to begin with.
Either way, you get to choose. And each option has it’s advantages and disadvantages at different moments.
You have the ability to program how you feel. And even if you choose not to voluntarily program how you feel, you are making a choice; for it’s happening anyway. The feeling you are experiencing right now is a choice. When it doesn’t feel like a choice, it’s because your subconscious mind has taken over and has a concern that needs to be addressed. This means the reason you are upset, sad, jealous, or anything else is you, not the other person or anything else happening. It’s like a red flag for your conscious mind to understand your subconscious mind is asking for help.
So, as an example in a circumstance when you might be upset with someone else, you might zoom out to understand this is your subconscious mind telling your conscious mind it needs help. Then, you might take some time on your own, zoom in, and see what your subconscious mind is trying to tell you needs healing. When else have you experienced this feeling, what did you learn from the circumstance, and are you willing to completely give it up and let it go?
Where in your life would it benefit you to zoom in right now — and accentuate the experience — and where would it make sense to zoom out? Remember, the more you experience a particular emotional state, the more you will experience this feeling.
Does this make sense? I sure hope so. I love you.
Sent to you with love, honor, and in service,
