Your Voice.
Speak up.

The world needs you, I need you, we all need you. The words, enthusiasm, and wisdom you bring this world are extremely valuable.

But, one quick favor before you speak, please:

Consider the impact your words, tonality, and non-verbal gestures will make upon others. Remember how powerful you are.

We’ve all felt it before… walking into a room while someone is feeling super negative, or right after a conversation that suddenly goes quiet because a couple was fighting… or into a funeral home where you’ve felt sadness that permeates so thickly it’s palpable.

Whoever said: “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me” was dead wrong; I’ll argue it’s probably the opposite… I can take a hit, and I’m sure you can too. But ‘words’, they echo.

How about the ‘other’ side?

Words can be uplifting, inspirational, and full of energy. The power of spoken word is tangible, fills a room with a feeling no one had before, and can change the vibe of an entire day, week, month, or longer. Words are perpetual, whether used for good or evil.

Listen to these words — inside your own mind — as you read what I’m about to share:

My heart is full of love, because that’s all I am. My body is a manifestation of my mind, my purpose, and my journey. My relationships are a product of my subconscious desires. I am grateful for all that I have, all that has happened, and all that is in my future. The only ‘true’ moment is now, so next time I’m feeling differently than I’d like, I’m going to remove past and present and focus on right now — this present moment.

I am all I need to be happy, and I couldn’t be happier about that! I am worth it. I am awesome. I am: me. And there’s only one me in the whole world. I love sharing who I am with others, and I believe in myself so much nothing else matters.

I am in charge. I am alive. I am lucky. I’m everything to me. And that’s perfectly ok.

Personally, I love you. Some of you I’ve met in person; others I simply love because I feel the connection we have. We are here in this world together, and we’re doing the best we can.

Today, your lesson is to speak up. Listen to yourself, love yourself, and honor whatever comes next. It’s all part of the fun.

I’m so grateful for you,

Kareem
